Foam Carving

How To Carve craft foam?
So I’m cosplaying as Imp Midna, and I made the helmet out of craft foam. I was wondering how I could carve in the details and cracks and stuff.. here are some pictures of it:

OOPS, just clicked on your first photo (which wasn’t a live link) and see that you’re using soft foam (“foam rubber”), not hard foam.
